A girl injured in an avalanche in the Arctic region died before the evacuation

Earlier, a 12-year-old girl who fell under a snow block as part of a tourist group was mistakenly declared dead. In fact, she was alive, but in serious condition. A disaster medicine helicopter was sent to the scene for evacuation.

Unfortunately, the doctors did not arrive on time. The child died without waiting for medical assistance, the Investigative Committee said.

It's worth reminding that on March 22, near the village of Imandra in the south-west of the Kola Peninsula, an avalanche descended. A group of tourists who had been previously informed about the avalanche danger turned out to be at the place of the descent.
