According to 29.RU, about two hundred people living in the villages of Myakurye, Peshemskoye, Ripalovo, Ust-Mehrenga and Pogost were cut off from the mainland. The bridge was demolished by sludge - the first ice that formed on the river - and broke in half.
The bridge was opened in June, the contractor (Moscow-based JSC NPK Khimprominzhiniring) promised that the construction would stand for fifty years. The bridge was assembled from "polymer segments based on polyethylene and polypropylene". Each pontoon must withstand a load of at least 120 tons.
The construction of the bridge cost the regional budget 20 million rubles.
