The student rescue corps has become an integral part of the state emergency response system. Students are involved in putting out fires in the Tyumen region, they fought floods across the country from Crimea to the Irkutsk region. Corps members took part in Arctic expeditions.

As an organization, the All-Russian Student Rescue Corps has existed for 20 years. The building was created on the initiative of the then Minister of Emergency Situations Sergei Shoigu. Two months after the founding conference, which was attended by 47 people, the Corps signed a cooperation agreement with the Russian Emergencies Ministry. Since then, the number of volunteer rescuers-students has grown to 8000, and the Corps, with its network covering 72 regions of Russia, is included in the unified state system in the field of prevention and elimination of accidents, catastrophes and natural disasters.

In 2021, All-Russian Student Rescue Corps volunteers participated in the elimination of the consequences of 5 major emergencies.

In May 2021, a large fire was discovered in the village of Mullashi, Tyumen Region. Students extinguished fires in an area of 5 hectares of forest and shed 8,000 square meters of smoldering shrubs and trees. Volunteers flooded the peat bogs, made maps of fires.

The village of Mullashi was seriously damaged by fires, all communications were out of order. Students adjusted the water supply, worked 45 emergency houses, cleaned 156 areas. The work was carried out around the clock.

In the summer of 2021, 100 volunteers of the Corps worked to eliminate the consequences of severe flooding in Yalta and Kerch. Some of them helped the residents of the Kuibyshevo village of the Bakhchisarai region. Residential buildings were flooded there due to heavy rain. In close cooperation with employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, students pumped out 134 thousand cubic meters of water from the basements, drained more than 77 thousand square meters in the housing stock of the village. As a result of flooding, trees fell into river beds and blocked water streams. Volunteers sawed down 850 cubic meters of trees. The water brought mud and mud into the cellars. Students cleared 4.5 thousand cubic meters of basements and took out 7 thousand cubic meters of mud. In order to block the flow of water, they voluntarily built 500 meters of dams and cleared 75 meters of the river bed in Kerch from fallen trees and bushes.

Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov thanked the volunteers for their help.

In August 2021, 45 people from the combined detachment of the rescue corps from the Moscow, Irkutsk, Kemerovo regions and the Trans-Baikal Territory helped in eliminating the consequences of the severe flooding of 2019 in the Irkutsk region. Students traveled to Nizhneudinsk, Tulun and the village of Shumsky, Nizhneudinsk district.

Volunteers dismantled 68 emergency buildings, mowed dry grass on an area of 12 square kilometers. 307 garbage trucks were removed. 32 families received targeted assistance.

In the same Irkutsk region, in the village of Baklashi, Shelekhovsky district, an emergency regime was introduced due to the fact that the groundwater rose dangerously, because of this, the ground collapsed. Volunteers pumped out water from 20 sites, dried 2,000 square meters of premises, and restored the entrance to 5 sites.

In July, the Governor of the Irkutsk Region, Igor Kobzev, met with volunteers of the VCKS in Tulun. The head of the region talked with the volunteers and thanked them for their help.

Volunteers of the Corps not only eliminate the consequences of accidents, but also carry out explanatory work. 370 people conducted 350 master classes for more than 20 thousand children who were vacationing at that time in children's camps.

Students sent humanitarian aid to Syria, donated blood, participated in Arctic expeditions, where they educated the population and were engaged in environmental projects.

This year, for the first time, an all-Russian meeting of rescue students and volunteers named after Hero of Russia Yevgeny Zinichev was held. More than 500 participants from 72 regions came to the rescue center of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia in Noginsk near Moscow. Volunteers took part in an educational program consisting of several blocks. They trained in first aid, studied fire safety, and trained in water and mountaineering training. Within the framework of the rally, the media school "Security Objective" worked.

The state does not offend the attention of student volunteers. The first deputy head of the presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, visited several points of the School of Survival in August. The governors of St. Petersburg and Kuzbass awarded several students and regional leaders of the Rescue Student Corps.

In March, the volunteers met with the country's President Vladimir Putin as part of the #MYVMESTE campaign. One All-Russian Student Rescue Corps volunteer took part in it.
