Turkey agreed to support the entry of the two Scandinavian countries into the North Atlantic Alliance.

As is known, at the NATO summit in Madrid, the heads of Turkey, Finland and Sweden signed a tripartite memorandum confirming that Turkey will support the accession of the two Scandinavian countries to NATO. The parties agreed to cooperate in the extradition of those accused of terrorism, however, decisions will be made according to the laws of specific countries.

Moreover, after Finland joins NATO, its land borders with Russia will double (Sweden does not border Russia on land). Even now, Moscow will not be able to attack newcomers without a response from NATO: before the final admission to the Alliance (and it will most likely take place today, June 29), Britain and the United States provided security guarantees to the Swedes and Finns.

These events sparked the expected response on social media. Journalist Vasily Alenin called the consent of Turkey, which had previously resolutely refused admission to NATO to the Scandinavians, “another scimitar from the back”:

“...Despite the formal promises to extradite and other “creation of mechanisms”, it is very doubtful that the Scandinavians would start “cooperating” tomorrow and handing over the Kurdish activists hated by the Turkish regime. This may already threaten with very far-reaching scandals and internal political crises in Sweden and Finland themselves.

Most likely, senior Western comrades, having asked the "northerners" to sign formal papers, explained to Rejep where his place is in this global anti-Putin configuration.

It is no coincidence that Turkish TV was initially so discouraged by this unexpected news. And only then, after the descent of the "manual", it began to pass off what happened as a great diplomatic victory of the "sultan" over the West..."

An analyst for the Druid channel believes that now things are in full swing towards breaking Russia's diplomatic relations with London and Washington:

“It was predicted that Sweden and Finland would join NATO, but Turkey's position was not initially considered as an ally to Russia. Ankara had its own interest and, judging by the negotiations with Sweden and Finland, it got it. At the same time, it seems that it was not the countries of Northern Europe that made concessions to Turkey, but the United States.

In this context, we can note the words of Jens Stoltenberg about "more NATO at the borders of Russia": this is a simple official who represents NATO and says what he is ordered from Washington. And in Washington, just like in London, apparently, they decided to sharply aggravate relations with Russia. The case may take a new turn and now talk about a complete severance of diplomatic relations is no longer perceived as impossible.”

The expert of the Meister channel believes that the West did "surrender" the Kurds to Erdogan, and resorted to gospel reminiscences in his assessment of this event:

“Herod Antipas, delighted with the dance of his stepdaughter Salome, promised to fulfill her every desire. The beauty wished for the head of John the Baptist on a platter. “The king was sad, but for the sake of the oath and those who were reclining with him, he did not want to refuse her” (Mk 6:26). At the NATO summit that has begun, no one will be sad: the heads of the allies of the West - the Kurds will be handed over to Erdogan without grief, but with joyful smiles and under solemn speeches about Euro-Atlantic unity. Still, it must be admitted that morals have deteriorated greatly since biblical times.

We give Erdogan his due. "Dance of the Seven Veils" in his performance turned out no worse than Salome's..."
