Floods kill 35 people in Afghanistan

“We ask the international community, especially Islamic countries, charitable and humanitarian institutions, to take urgent measures to help those affected by the recent floods and not refuse cooperation at this critical stage”, - Interfax quoted the Taliban as saying.

It is specified that about three thousand residential buildings were destroyed. The flood caused damage to agricultural land. The authorities instructed officials and departments to provide assistance to the victims.

On August 21, flooding was reported in Khushi district in Logar province in eastern Afghanistan, killing at least 20 Afghans and injuring 30 others.

At the beginning of last week, it became known about 31 flood victims, 17 victims, as well as hundreds of local residents who are missing in the central part of Afghanistan - the province of Parwan.
