Despite the fact that NATO is not a party to the conflict in Ukraine, the alliance will continue to support this country.
Jens Stoltenberg also commented on the statement of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about his intention to apply for NATO membership in an accelerated mode. He stated that the doors of NATO are always open for the allies of the alliance. “We support the rights of Ukraine and its decision to go its own way. But such decisions are made by each of the 30 allied countries”, - said Jens Stoltenberg.
He assured that the alliance will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine as long as it is needed.
It's worth reminding that on Friday, September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed agreements on joining Russia with the republics of the DPR and LPR, as well as the territories of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
