Sergey Lavrov declared the desire of the United States and NATO to defeat Russia "on the battlefield"

"It's no secret that the strategic goal of the United States and its NATO allies is "victory over Russia on the battlefield" as a mechanism for significantly weakening or even destroying our country. In order to achieve this goal, our opponents are ready for a lot", - Lavrov said in an interview (quoted by TASS).The Foreign Minister added that the main beneficiary of the "hot conflict" is the United States.

In his opinion, Washington seeks to extract the maximum benefit from the situation in economic and military-strategic terms. He added that in this way the American authorities are solving another important geopolitical task, destroying ties between Russia and Europe in order to strengthen their influence on "European satellites". Lavrov accused the United States of wanting to prolong the conflict and make it more violent.

The Foreign Minister noted the Pentagon's plans to increase orders for the American defense industry for years to come with a constant increase in the spending bar for the needs of the Armed Forces. The Russian Foreign Minister added that the United States requires other members of the "anti-Russian alliance" to follow the same path. According to him, Kiev has received more than $ 40 billion in military aid since February. Among the supplies, including weapons that have not yet been received by the armies of Western countries, which, according to Lavrov, is a test of technology in combat conditions."At the same time, Westerners declare their desire to remain "above the fray" and the unacceptability of a direct clash between NATO and Russia. This is pure hypocrisy", - the diplomat believes.

Lavrov also rebuked Kiev for wanting to "drag the Americans and other NATO members" into the conflict, creating conditions for a head-on collision with the Russian army.

He called an example of the events of November 15 with the fall of a Ukrainian rocket in Polish Przevodow, "which Zelensky falsely tried to pass off as Russian". The diplomat assessed the incident as a provocation, and also added that Brussels and Washington "had the sense" not to succumb to this provocation. In his opinion, this clearly demonstrates that Kiev will stop at nothing.
