Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev (pictured) published another message on his Telegram channel, where he called Russians who left the country "traitors" and called for the defeat of the Russian Federation. He proposed to ban their entry for life and cut them off from their sources of income in Russia.

"Traitors who hate their country so much that they call for its defeat and destruction should be treated as hostis publicus, enemies of society. Regardless of the legal qualification of their actions. As enemies of the state, enemy of the state, using their favorite American equivalent", - Medvedev said in his message. He clarified that this definition should be "firmly entrenched", despite the absence of criminal or administrative cases against the designated persons.

"Such persons should not be allowed back to Russia until the end of their days.

They need to be completely cut off from the sources of income in our country, whatever they are. The immoral situation when traitors who wish their country defeat are simultaneously making money on Russia should be stopped once and for all," he added. In his opinion, the return of the "traitors" to Russia can be resolved after "unequivocal public repentance has been made", and in some cases through amnesty or pardon.

At the same time, he added that "it would be better for them not to return."Medvedev began his publication by drawing an analogy between the current situation and the beginning of the last century, when Russian "non-systemic oppositionists" wanted the country to be defeated in the First World War, which eventually led to the death of the empire and two revolutions and a Civil War that claimed the lives of 17 million people.

He noted that the tragic events of the past are often repeated in the form of a farce.
