Sberbank announced the start of work in the Crimea

"Sberbank has formed a team and is starting to work on the Crimean peninsula. The first ATMs of the bank have already been installed, and within a year the network of self-service devices will work throughout the peninsula. Gradually, during 2023, the bank's offices will be opened, the first of them in the largest cities will start working in the first half of the year", - the press service of the BEAC reported (quoted by TASS).

Sberbank's infrastructure, including services, will be deployed within a year.

The information about the beginning of the work of the BEAC on the territory of Crimea was confirmed by the governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhayev in a message on his Telegram channel.

According to him, now there is a choice of location for the office in the capital of the region. The head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov noted that the arrival of such a major player will increase the speed, accessibility and quality of banking services for the population, as well as have a positive impact on the financial and investment climate.

Promsvyazbank has been operating on the peninsula since last year, and RNKB, which became part of the VTB Group, was one of the key credit institutions in the region.

After Crimea became part of the Russian Federation in 2014, many Russian companies and businessmen stopped their activities here, fearing sanctions.
