The document amends the law "On Veterans", which exclude the provision of social support to the spouses of veterans of the deceased military who live alone or with their children.
"Thus, the new norms establish that social assistance measures will apply to all citizens whose spouses died in the course of hostilities, regardless of the composition of their family", - TASS notes.
Social support will be provided until a new marriage is concluded by widows/widowers. This includes a monthly cash payment, 50 percent compensation for utility costs, the right to receive medical care, preferential provision of vouchers to sanatoriums, as well as priority admission to social service organizations.
The document was published today, on Friday, and the changes come into force from the date of publication.
