The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, announced that he was leaving his post in the fall of 2023, CNN reports. Journalists asked the secretary General of the bloc whether he was going to remain in office if NATO members asked him to, but Stoltenberg indicated that he did not intend to speculate on this topic.
"I am focused on providing NATO assistance to Ukraine", - he said.
Initially, it was assumed that Stoltenberg would leave office on October 1 last year, but in March 2022, at the summit of the countries belonging to the bloc, his powers were extended until September 30 this year.
