Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said that his country is ready to create a center for the repair of Leopard tanks transferred to the AFU. But this will not be possible if Germany does not start producing spare parts for these combat vehicles - production has not been conducted for two decades.
"We are talking about this topic with my German colleague. The challenge is spare parts for these tanks. The production of these spare parts was stopped 20 years ago", - the head of the department said.
Warsaw supplied the Ukrainian side with 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks.
Blaszczak indicated that the hub could be deployed at the mechanical plant "Bumar-Labenda" in Gliwice.
Earlier, Warsaw reported on the transfer of four combat vehicles. Thus, Poland sent Kiev all the promised tanks. During the briefing, the Polish minister added that the republic had also completed the training of Ukrainian tankers.
