Finland will become a member of NATO on April 4

"It will be a historic week. Tomorrow we will raise the flag of Finland at the headquarters in Brussels and it will become a member of the alliance", - Stoltenberg said (quoted by RIA Novosti).

The date of Finland's accession to NATO was confirmed by the Office of the President of the Republic.

The Secretary General of the alliance reported on the ongoing negotiations in a trilateral format between Sweden, Finland and Turkey regarding the Swedish application for membership.

In his speech, Stoltenberg also touched on the Ukrainian agenda. He said that on April 4-5, the foreign ministers of NATO countries will hold a meeting at which they will agree on the beginning of the development of a multi-year program of support for Ukraine. According to the NATO Secretary General, the alliance countries have already provided Kiev with weapons worth 65 billion euros. Stoltenberg noted that NATO's position on Ukraine's accession remains unchanged. He stressed that it would be appropriate to talk about this only if Ukraine wins the conflict.
