In a video message, the president addressed the Russians, representatives of the military and law enforcement agencies and those «who were deceived and threatened into the path of armed rebellion.» He called for unity, responsibility and consolidation of society. Putin stressed that the fate of the people is being decided now, and any strife should be discarded during the special operation.

He called the attempt to split the unity of society apostasy, betrayal and «a stab in the back».

«We will protect both our people and our statehood from any threats, including internal betrayal, and what we are facing is precisely betrayal. Exorbitant ambitions and personal interests led to treason, to treason both to their country and to their people, and to the cause for which the fighters and commanders of the Wagner group fought and died side by side with our other units and divisions», -Putin said.

According to the President, the necessary actions will be taken to stabilize the situation in Rostov-on-Don. He promised that the authorities would protect the people and not allow a split to happen again, as it was in the past.
