According to the Washington Post, whose journalists spoke with senior officials from the Joe Biden administration, American intelligence received «enough signals» indicating that Prigozhin was preparing a military mutiny.

Over the past two weeks, intelligence has repeatedly informed not only Congress, but also the White House, the State Department, and the Pentagon about this.

As the New York Times notes, after receiving information about the upcoming rebellion, American officials did not want to help the Russian authorities. In addition, officials expressed fears that if such data is transferred to Russia, the Kremlin may accuse the United States of organizing a coup in Russia, RIA Novosti reports.

It is noteworthy that in the United States, Prigozhin, who fell under sanctions, was put on the wanted list a few years ago, and a reward was announced for information about his whereabouts. The amount of the award was designated at 250 thousand US dollars.

Earlier it became known that on the evening of June 23, Prigozhin announced a march on Moscow, which he called the «march of justice», and the Russian authorities recognized as «betrayal», an armed rebellion and opened a criminal case on this fact.
