A much more substantial surcharge will be received by employees of the special forces units «Thunder» and employees of the anti-drug distribution unit. They added 50 thousand a month to their salary.

The decision to raise the salaries of the metropolitan police was made just before the beginning of the armed mutiny of the Wagner PMCs under the leadership of businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin. According to the American media, the Russian special services allegedly learned about the upcoming mutiny two days before it began and managed to take some preventive measures, which is why Prigozhin had to «improvise».
