The incident was reported by deputy of the Jelgava Duma, member of the Russian Union of Latvia Andrey Pagor.

Estonian President Alar Karis refused to sign and publish a law passed by parliament on the demolition of Soviet monuments as dangerous and inciting enmity objects. He motivated his decision by the vagueness of the wording and inconsistencies with the Constitution, so the bill was returned for revision.

Russian Ambassador to Austria Dmitry Lyubinsky said that members of the Russian delegation at the session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna were not allowed to attend the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Soviet soldiers-liberators.

The municipal services of Odessa have begun dismantling the monument to Empress Catherine II, the protective structure previously erected around the monument is being dismantled, traffic on the square is blocked.
