The case of Sergei Furgal

The former governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergei Furgal (pictured), who was sentenced to 22 years in a strict regime colony for organizing the murders of entrepreneurs, appealed the verdict.

The state prosecutor in the Moscow Regional Court in the case of the ex-governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergey Furgal proposed to appoint the defendant 23 years in a strict regime colony.

The jury found the former head of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergey Furgal guilty of the attempted murder of entrepreneur Alexander Smolsky and the contract killings of entrepreneurs Oleg Bulatov and Evgeny Zori.

During the debate of the parties in the Moscow Regional Court, the ex-governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergei Furgal (pictured), declared his innocence of committing serious crimes of which he is accused.
