For psychoanalysis, it has long been no secret that in the depths of the human psyche, in addition to love and compassion, different drives and affects coexist, including envy, hatred, the drive for destruction and death, the desire to inflict pain, suffering on another or oneself, etc. ...But social norms and taboos in everyday life do not allow us to openly manifest and realize these affects, and mental defenses, if a person is healthy, protect our consciousness from the horror of meeting this negative content of our own inner world. And therefore, this content is looking for different ways to be legally realized, at best, sublimating into something useful or art, and at worst, for example, pushing a person under contract to participate in hostilities. At the same time, our mind always finds ways to furnish it in an elegant, ideological and rational way so that a person is convinced that his cause is right. This is important for a person if he is not a frostbitten psychopath.

It was so in pre-dock times. And then a virus appears, capable of infecting, maiming and killing very quickly and a lot. And at the same time, there is no rigid social norm or taboo on infection. On the contrary, in pre-dock times it was almost a good form to go sick to work and to visit and infect others with, say, the flu. They did not die from the flu as from the coronavirus, but at least a week of physical ailments was provided. That is, such a light, uncomplicated aggression - to make another patient sick was socially acceptable. One can imagine what opportunities such a monster as the current coronavirus opens up for the implementation of hidden aggressive, murderous, including suicidal impulses. Violation of a non-existent taboo on infection leads to overcoming the existing taboo on killing or harming others or oneself.

It seems that covid, it really is some kind of new form of war between each and every, where humanity en masse gained access to serious biological weapons. When one of his "hand" frantically searches for ways to destroy this weapon and render harmless as much as possible in order to survive, while the other at this time implements with its help an unconscious program of self-destruction and murder. This is such an ambivalence. But outwardly, all this is presented in our minds as some kind of ideological and conceptual confrontation, different versions of conspiracy theory, when we foaming each other prove something to each other, and for the hundredth time unsuccessfully trying to convince that everyone has already decided for oneself on that “underground” level of the psyche where affects reign. And it may seem that this choice leans in favor of Eros - the freedom to live without limiting oneself, but in fact - behind this looms the shadow of Thanatos, who is already barely keeping up with collecting his terrible "harvest".
