The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine issued an appeal to all Ukrainians in Russia. The agency recommends that they leave the country, as "increased Russian aggression" could lead to significant restrictions on the provision of consular assistance in its territory, the statement said.

Ukrainians who wish to travel to the Russian Federation were advised to postpone the trip, follows from the application for website of the Ukrainian department.

The decision was made against the backdrop of Russia's latest statement, "grossly violating the sovereignty of Ukraine." This is probably about the recognition by Russia of the independence of the self-proclaimed republics of the DNR and LNR.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that citizens of Ukraine refrain from any trips to Russia, and those who are currently in this country to leave it immediately," the statement said.

Recall that after Russia recognized the independence of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry turned to President Volodymyr Zelensky with a proposal to break off any diplomatic relations with Russia.

Russia recognized the independence of the republics on February 21. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an agreement on cooperation with the heads of the DPR and LPR, including in the field of defense. The Russian Foreign Ministry was instructed to establish diplomatic relations with these countries, and the Russian Defense Ministry was instructed to ensure security on the territory of Donbass.

It was decided to recognize the independence of the republics after active hostilities resumed in the Donbass. On February 18, the evacuation of the civilian population was announced in the regions: the elderly, women and children. Men were forbidden to travel outside the republics, they were called to the front.
