The well-known automobile company Renault, with the support of the French government, is resuming car production in Moscow, going against the pan-European trend of closing production sites in Russia after the start of a special operation in Ukraine, Western media report. Recall that about 40 thousand people work at the Russian enterprises of this largest French automaker.
It is also interesting that the world-famous Swiss company Nestlé also maintains, despite the sanctions, business ties with Russia, although not to the same extent. According to representatives of this company: “We have significantly reduced our activities in Russia: we have stopped all imports and exports from Russia, with the exception of essential products”.
“In fact, the sanctions reshuffling in the Russian market threatens both companies with an increase in profits and an expansion of their presence in the Russian Federation. In addition, Renault's decision to resume production is of a much larger caliber and is dictated by the support of the French government, which is its main shareholder, analysts of the Kstati channel write.
This position has already been criticized in the European Union, however, according to experts, “condemnation is unlikely to interfere with the commercial plans of corporations, only correcting the marketing course, as is the case with the traditional Swiss desire for neutrality”.
