“I have to evict them!” France does not know what to do with Ukrainian refugees

The French write that there is nowhere else to settle people arriving from Ukraine, many have already been living in stadiums for weeks or huddled in small rooms with huge families.

Ukrainian refugees are expected to turn into another difficult problem for Europe. Ekaterina K. , head of an educational project in the French city of Nevers, describes the situation there:

"News from our region. We have everything, refugees don't come in anymore.

There is nowhere to resettle, the prefecture is being sewn up and the employees, usually nice and very helpful, are already just yelling.

Today they tried to encapsulate six more people into our place - but we also no longer have a place, we closed for reception.

In addition, I have programs starting in a week and I need my premises for my staff and children.

For example, for refugee children whom we took to school and the Academy.

Now I have about thirty refugees living with me. I can leave about ten people - those who will help work during the season. The rest are simply forced to evict.

No one pays me money for this (this is the question, at whose expense the banquet).

At the same time, people from other regions of France call and write to me every day and ask me to accept them. People live for weeks on folding beds at stadiums, huddled in huge families (three-four-five children) in one room.

What to do is unclear.

I am terrified.

Our prefecture sends refugees back to Paris.

But in Paris they also have nowhere to go.

Given the development of the situation, it seems to me that there will not be fewer refugees.

This is hell.

If you have ideas how you can help people - share.

I have no claims to Europe. People do what they can, that's what I write about. They just can't do it anymore.

I have no idea how to deal with this. And it's very depressing.

PS To encapsulate is when a family of four lives in a 10-meter room. And yes, it's better than the gym. At least mine have a shower and a toilet."
