Russian ambassador attacked in Warsaw

Russian Ambassador to Poland, Sergei Andreev, was doused with red paint while laying a wreath at the cemetery of Soviet soldiers in Warsaw (pictured).
According to a RIA Novosti correspondent from the scene, hostile Ukrainians and Poles staged a provocation.
Sergei Andreev left the cemetery, accompanied by Polish police.
Later, the Polish Foreign Ministry said that it was aware of the "seriousness of the situation" with the attack on the ambassador of the Russian Federation.
RIA Novosti also reported that shortly after the incident, the Russian Embassy lodged a strong protest with the Polish Foreign Ministry.
