"In principle, I do not accept any meeting with anyone from the Russian Federation, except for the President of the Russian Federation. And only if there is only one question on the table”, - Zelensky quoted Reuters as saying.
He also said that the organization of any negotiations is becoming increasingly difficult.
Dmitry Polyansky - the first deputy representative of Russia to the UN - called this statement a PR. He stressed that the talks at the highest level must be carefully prepared, and the agenda must be agreed on by both sides.
Zelensky also spoke about the development of a plan B in Kyiv in the event of the death of a Ukrainian leader, since the republic is a parliamentary-presidential one.
Earlier, an adviser to the head of Zelensky’s office, Mikhail Podolyak (who said that Donbass should forget the word “Russians”), said that Kiev had stopped negotiating with Moscow because the Kremlin did not understand “its extremely negative role” and that military operations allegedly were “not according to the rules and plans of Russia. He expressed the hope that Russia would not achieve its goals in Ukraine.
It's worth reminding that the Ukrainian side almost withdrew from the negotiation process in mid-May.
By the way, former Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi said that at present there are no politicians in Europe or in the whole world capable of negotiating with Russia over the situation in Ukraine.
