By the beginning of the summer season, migrants from Ukraine will be forced to leave the hotels on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria

By June 1, Bulgaria will evict some 35,000 Ukrainian refugees from its Black Sea hotels, media reported, citing a significant reduction in state funding for hotels that house Ukrainian citizens who fled the war zone in their country as the reason for this step. If during the last three months the Bulgarian government compensated hotel owners for the cost of accommodation and food for refugees in the amount of 25 euros per person, now this amount will be 7.5 euros.

However, there is another reason for the eviction: the fact is that on June 1, on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, the holiday season traditionally begins, the income from which constitutes a significant part of the state budget of this, one of the poorest countries in the European Union. That is why Ukrainian refugees will be resettled from the coastal regions inland, mainly to municipal recreation centers or cheaper 1-2-star hotels. In addition, refugees have the right to employment - just in the holiday season in coastal hotels, restaurants and entertainment establishments in Bulgaria there is an acute shortage of workers. It should also be noted that some of the refugees (mostly residents of the central and western regions of Ukraine) are already returning to their homeland.
