Bastion missile systems deployed in Kuril Paramushir

On the island of Paramushir in the northern part of the Kuril ridge, the crews of the Bastion coastal missile systems of the Pacific Fleet took up duty.
Equipment and personnel arrived on the island on the landing ships of the Primorsky Flotilla. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the rocket men will keep a round-the-clock watch "to control the adjacent water area and torrential zones."
Last year, the crews of the Bastion DBK took up duty on another Kuril island - Matua. Also, since 2016, they have been placed on Iturup and Kunashir, whose ownership is still being disputed by Tokyo.
Note that in 2018, these complexes during tests in the Arctic frightened the British media.
