The commander of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN), Colonel General Sergey Karakayev, said that 95% of the group of troops are on constant combat duty.

“The task is to support the grouping in which we are. Including at the stage of rearmament with combat construction, which is actively taking place today in the missile forces. I must note, in spite of everything, 95% of the group are in constant combat readiness”, - Karakayev said on the air of the Military Acceptance program on the Zvezda TV channel.

He added that the Strategic Missile Forces are being re-equipped, the number of Avangard complexes is increasing. This year, the first regiment of Sarmat missiles is expected to be put on combat duty, which will be deployed on the basis of the Uzhur formation (Krasnoyarsk Territory).

“And then their number will only increase. The level of modern armament today of the Strategic Missile Forces at the end of last year is 83%, the task is to increase it to 86% by the end of this year, taking into account the putting on combat duty of the complexes, up to 86%”, - the general emphasized.

According to him, the first regiment of the Strategic Missile Forces with the "Vanguard" is on combat duty, and the second regiment is preparing to intercede on duty.

“Now one regiment in full strength is [on combat duty]. The second regiment is preparing to intercede on combat duty. And this is the reality of today”, - said Karakayev.

He added that the “potential adversary” does not have the means to counter the Avangard complexes.

“They can’t even imagine how they can counteract it today”, - the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces said.
