In this self-propelled howitzer, Polish engineers combined a South Korean chassis and a British-made turret.

We are talking about three batteries - 18 units of self-propelled 155 mm howitzers "Krab". The Polish army has already trained 100 Ukrainian servicemen for their exploitation, according to the Polish website Polskie Radio. The Poles themselves have 80 of these self-propelled guns out of 122 ordered.

Of all the samples of artillery weapons previously transferred to Ukraine, this system is the newest. Its production began in 2008 and continues to this day. The main technical task in the development of the gun was to exceed the range of systems of modern artillery installations, which was achieved. The rate of fire of this howitzer: continuous 6, short - 9 rounds per minute, ammunition - 60 rounds.

Analyst Dmitry Shulgin writes in his commentary on the matter:

“This is a rather interesting machine of their own design: the Poles took the chassis from the South Korean self-propelled gun K9 Thunder and put a turret from the English AS-90M Braveheart on it. It turned out quite a decent tool: 155 mm, barrel - 52 caliber. With standard shells, AHS Krab hits for 30 km, with special active-reactive shells - for all 40 km. Korean chassis with 1000 hp engine. provides 400 km of travel, the maximum speed on the highway is 67 km / h".
