Film director Viktor Merezhko passed away

People's Artist of Russia, director, screenwriter Viktor Merezhko died at the age of 85.
His death was confirmed by TASS in the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation.
It's worth reminding that Merezhko is the author of over fifty scripts for films. His first screenplay for a feature film was Tigers on Ice in 1971. Among his other works as a screenwriter are "Hello and Goodbye" in 1972, "Tryn Grass" in 1976, "Leaving Go Away" in 1978 and others.
As director Merezhko is best known for the films "Sonya the Golden Hand" in 2007, "Wanted" 2008.
In addition, Merezhko wrote about two dozen plays for theaters in the USSR. They continue to be staged on the modern stage.
