Prices for medicines in Russia have increased by another 11.4% over the past year, according to a study conducted by Romir. This is almost double the announced inflation rate in the country.

In August this year, the growth in drug prices in the country slowed down by 0.1% compared with a month earlier this year. At the same time, over the past two years, drug prices in the country have already increased by 26.5% compared to August 2018.

The fastest growing prices are for colds and flu, said Ksenia Paizanskaya, director of the Romir Consumer Scan Panel. Prices for this category of drugs have increased by more than 10% over the year. In contrast, prices for antiseptic and antiviral drugs are declining.
