An application for connection to gas networks within the framework of social gasification in Russia can now be submitted remotely through the portal of state services (Gosuslugi).

As follows from the order of the government of the Russian Federation, published on the official portal of the Cabinet of Ministers, a single operator will deal with the process of preferential gas connection.

“Consumers who want to take advantage of the social gasification program announced by the President in his annual Address to the Federal Assembly on April 21 will be able to apply for connection to the networks in electronic format - through the portal of state services”, - Interfax quotes the order of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Having received an application remotely through the portal of state services, a single operator will be responsible for the entire process of bringing gas from the main gas pipeline to the border of the applicant's site.

According to the government's plans, within the next one and a half years, gas should be brought to the boundaries of user sites in those settlements that are already supplied with gas.

It became known yesterday that by 2030 Gazprom intends to increase the level of gasification of Russian regions by at least 10%. It is expected that thanks to the adopted state program, gas will come to 82.9% of Russian houses in 10 years, and the connection process itself will become easier and more affordable. According to Gazprom's estimates, the construction of intra-settlement gas pipelines and gas pipelines of the "last mile" will require about 350 billion rubles in the next five years.

A year ago, Putin instructed Gazprom to ensure the "phased completion of gasification by 2024 and 2030" without attracting funds from citizens. The target level of complete technically possible gasification with network gas is 83% (at the end of 2019, the level of gasification in the country was 70.1%).

The intra-settlement gas distribution network is being built at the expense of regional administrations and gas consumers. The construction of gas pipelines-inputs from intra-settlement distribution networks to the boundaries of land plots of gas consumers - the so-called "last mile" - is carried out within the framework of technological connection at the expense of gas consumers.

The reason for the introduction of the state program of preferential gasification, which Putin announced in April this year, was the massive refusal of consumers of already gasified settlements to connect to new networks due to the extremely high cost of the procedure. For many citizens, especially those living in rural areas, the cost of connecting to the main gas pipelines turned out to be absolutely unaffordable, since it exceeded the total annual income of the family.
