Russian taxpayers very often do not know what "urgent" government needs their money is spent on.

It has been known for a long time that so-called government procurement often becomes a source of illegal enrichment at the expense of the taxpayer. Journalists of "Novaya Gazeta" learned a list of these purchases in the past year and made ranking of the most wasteful. It looks more than strange, it has yachts for special services, and truly "golden" toilets and even anti-gay social videos - this is where our money goes.

5 . Yacht for the FSB - over 70 million rubles

The luxurious 10-seater NorthSilver 1440 for 70.75 million rubles was acquired by the Federal Security Service at a closed auction "to meet state needs".

4. Fireworks Festival - 137 million rubles

The modest resort town of Essentuki was supposed to host the summer "International Fireworks Festival", but due to the coronavirus, it was postponed to next year. Almost 140 million rubles will be spent on covering, fencing and video surveillance at the festival site. Salutes are not included in the cost of the contract; an additional 84 million rubles must be found for them.

3. Rural basin - 77 million rubles

The authorities of the Saratov region have placed a tender for the construction of a swimming pool in the village of Perelyub. The issue price is 77,755,200 rubles. With this money, the contractor must erect supporting structures, lay the foundation, make a roof, supply electricity, and arrange ventilation. The completion date of the facility is December 31, 2020, moreover, the tender was placed just two weeks before the deadline, and the contractor was the Engels office, which had previously passed the kindergarten without being connected to the central sewerage system. No wonder that the prosecutor's office became interested in the case.

2. Geo-branding with anti-LGBT notes - 600 thousand rubles

The Krasnoyarsk Territory Tourism Development Agency has ordered six videos to attract tourists. Scenarios are more beautiful than each other. In one of them, visiting heroes get to know the girls in order to avert suspicions and prove their heterosexual orientation, in the other - a young couple is enjoying the rest "using all the means that the Krasnoyarsk reservoir can provide". And so they wrote.

1. Toilet - 16 million rubles

Improvement works are in full swing in the Nizhny Novgorod Switzerland park. In total, 3.74 billion rubles were allocated for the repair of the park. The scope is truly "Swiss": the price of three toilets in a public toilet was 16 million rubles. The tender was won by the EKS group of companies, owned by Maxim Krylov, who is close to the Rotenberg family.
