The security forces in the Rostov region on suspicion of corruption detained the head of the traffic police department in the Millerovsky district, Alexander Chmykhalov, and several of his subordinates.

According to the regional Investigative Directorate of the Investigation Committee of Russia, based on the results of consideration of the materials of the FSB of Russia in the Rostov region, a criminal case was initiated against three employees of the OGIBDD OMVD of Russia in the Millerovsky district.

“Depending on the role and degree of participation, they are suspected of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of office); Part 4 of Art. 33, part 1 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement to abuse of office), ”the message says.

As REN TV clarifies, Police Lieutenant Leonid Kondakov and Police Senior Lieutenant Roman Lebedev were detained on suspicion of corruption along with Chmykhalov.

In the UK, it is believed that in 2020-2021, the suspects, having exceeded their official powers, did not compile materials on administrative offenses, as a result of which 4 persons were not brought to administrative responsibility, 2 of whom were for offenses related to driving in a state of alcoholic intoxication.

“Chmykhalov instructed his subordinates not to draw up protocols on an administrative offense against drivers who were stopped for various offenses, including drunk driving”, - the newspaper notes.

In July, a gang of "golden traffic cops" was detained in the Stavropol Territory. In total, more than 30 alleged corrupt officials in uniform came under suspicion of the investigation. According to the investigation, the members of an organized group led by the head of the traffic police for the Stavropol Territory, Aleksey Safonov, for several years issued fake passes for the transportation of grain and building materials for several years. Searches of the suspects' mansions, cluttered with luxurious furniture, found many valuables and even gold toilets.

In August, a gang of “golden traffic cops” - owners of luxurious apartments and elite cars - were found in Bashkiria . The investigation believes that the wealth of the suspects was acquired by criminal means. According to the UK, for five years, traffic police officers issued driver's licenses for money without actually passing exams. The amount of the bribe for each certificate varied from 14 to 40 thousand rubles.
