Mayor of Tomsk Ivan Klein, who was detained by FSB officers today on a tour, is suspected of abuse of office.

This was reported by Interfax, citing an informed source.

"Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of office) is charged", - said the interlocutor of the agency.

According to the investigation, Klein committed fraud with plots for the construction of residential buildings in the interests of a company affiliated with him.

"According to preliminary data, the suspect in 2016, acting in the interests of OJSC Tomskoe Pivo, of which he is the main shareholder, gave an illegal order to the head of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Administration of Tomsk to enter in the GeoCad geoinformation system inaccurate information about the presence of a 300 meter sanitary protection zone in relation to the land plot of OJSC "Tomskoe pivo" and prepare on this basis a resolution to refuse to satisfy the entrepreneur's application to change the territorial zone", - Tomsk.ru cites the message of the Investigative Committee.

Now the duties of the mayor in Tomsk are performed by the first deputy mayor of the city Mikhail Ratner.

“The administration of the city of Tomsk continues to work as usual”, - Irina Pakhomova, head of the information policy and public relations department of the Tomsk mayor's office, informed Interfax.

Earlier it was reported that Ivan Klein was detained during a conference call this morning. As “Podyom” writes, he was taken out of the administration building in handcuffs.

It is worth noting that opposition leader Alexey Navalny and FBK released an investigation into corruption in Tomsk last month. Recall that Navalny felt bad after leaving this city. The film about the Tomsk "deputy mafia" was filmed during the oppositionist's trip to Siberia.

FBK pointed out that in Tomsk "everything is entwined with corruption".

"This is not a figure of speech - the local mafia has seized the city so much that all Tomsk residents are forced to pay tribute to it many, many times every day, although the majority do not even suspect about it", - stated the authors of the film.

For example, the FBK pointed out, practically the entire system of energy saving and housing and communal services in Tomsk is controlled by United Russia deputies.
