Suppliers of hot meals to schools were fined 147 million rubles for various violations after the series of inspections by Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights). This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.

59 tons of low-quality products were withdrawn from the turnover. The activities of 146 companies have been suspended. 61 suppliers are included in the register of unscrupulous, she said at a meeting between Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Deputy Prime Ministers.

The head of government instructed his deputies to monitor the situation with the supply of food to schools so that cases of mass poisoning of children do not recur. In particular, Mishustin recalled the situation in Krasnoyarsk, when 130 schoolchildren were poisoned with low-quality salads in the school cafeteria. "It is not enough to organize free meals for primary school students, you also need to control what products this food is made from", - he commented.

He also suggested that the parents themselves more actively monitor school meals, since the health of their children depends on it.

We will remind, earlier 59 schoolchildren turned to hospitals with signs of food poisoning. The rest were treated at home. The children were diagnosed with yersiniosis infection - this is a lesion of the gastrointestinal tract by poor-quality food.

After the incident, a criminal case was opened in the city. Over a ton of vegetables from this supplier was seized. The activities of companies that supplied food to schools have been suspended.

These suppliers had problems with the quality of food even before the mass poisoning of children. An unscheduled inspection by Rospotrebnadzor in December-January revealed numerous violations in the salad packing shop.
