Five children died in a fire in the Sverdlovsk region

As explained to Interfax in the department of information policy of the region, the fire in a private one-story house began on Thursday at 1:45.

In addition to two adults, children of three and 1.3 years old were injured.

“In addition, rescuers are looking for five more children who could have been in the room”, - the department said.

The head of the Sverdlovsk region, Yevgeny Kuyvashev, has already instructed the Ministry of Health to organize medical care for the victims who are hospitalized in the hospitals of Nizhny Tagil.

The regional public security ministry will assist in the search for children who could have remained in the house at the time of the fire.

"On the instructions of the governor, the head of the Gornouralsk urban district Dmitry Letnikov left for the place", - added the officials.

However, during the spilling of the burnt building, the bodies of four children were found who could not get out of the house.

"In the course of pouring and disassembling the burnt structures, fire fighters found 4 dead children. According to neighbors, another child may be under the rubble. The search for him continues", - said in the message of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

It is possible that dilapidated wiring was the cause of the fire.

"Police officers, together with colleagues from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, are working out various versions of a fire with the death of people, including those associated with dilapidated electrical wiring, violations of fire safety rules, the fire of outbuildings with the transfer of fire to the house and others", - said the head of the press service of the State Administration Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk Region Valery Gorelykh.

The house where the tragedy occurred is wooden, built in 1957. Heating in it is stove. It was purchased with maternity capital. The old stove was replaced with a new one.

The regional ombudsman Tatyana Merzlyakova told Interfax that the family is prosperous and has recently moved to a new house.

Among the dead are a girl born in 2013, boys born in 2014, 2016, 2019 and 2021. They managed to save two kids - a boy born in 2017 and a girl born in 2021, the twin of one of the dead boys.
