Aeroflot plane collided with a flock of birds at Nizhnevartovsk airport

The incident took place at the airport of Nizhnevartovsk on Tuesday morning, according to the message of the Ural Transport Prosecutor's Office. The return flight No. 1647, which was to take off at 5:25 local time, was delayed for a day. The airline must replace the plane that will take passengers to Moscow the next day.

In total, 62 passengers checked in for the flight to Moscow, most of whom (43 people) flew to Moscow by another airline. The rest of the passengers were accommodated in the hotel, they will be provided with free meals, the message says.

Also, the prosecutor's office will check whether the legislation on ornithological assurance of flight safety was observed - that is, the installation of special devices that scare away birds, as well as the conduct of visual and radar system observations of the situation with birds near the airport.

A similar incident happened with the airline a week ago. An Aeroflot plane collided with a flock of birds while landing at the Belgorod airport. The vessel received significant damage and was removed from flights.
