"If Russia invades, if tanks or troops cross the Ukrainian border again, there will be no more Nord Stream 2. We will put an end to this. I promise you, we can do it", - reads the transcript of the press conference.

For his part, Scholz indicated that the states "will act in concert" with regard to restrictive measures against Moscow.

“We will take action together with our allies, with our partners, with the United States, we will take all the necessary steps”, - the German Chancellor stressed.

According to Biden, he had many conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which he was "straightforward and sharp".

“We will impose the most severe sanctions that have ever been applied”, - Biden promised, referring to the situation in which Russia would “invade” Ukraine.

At the same time, a meeting between Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky and German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock has been canceled due to Nord Stream 2 and the position on the supply of lethal weapons, CNN reports. Burbock declined to say that the FRG would abandon the pipeline in the event of an alleged "invasion".

It's worth reminding that on the eve of the five-hour talks between French President Emamnuel Macron and Vladimir Putin took place in the Kremlin. On the agenda was the question of the situation around Ukraine. In addition, the leaders of the two countries agreed to work together on security guarantees. The question was raised about the presence of NATO troops in the East, as well as fears of Russian aggression in Europe. As for allegations that Russia is allegedly behaving aggressively, Putin assured Macron that this is contrary to common sense.
