The governor of the Vladimir region, Vladimir Sipyagin, wrote a letter of resignation. It is expected that he will officially announce his resignation after the single voting day.

According to RBC, Vladimir Sipyagin, who is on the federal part of the LDPR list, plans to take a deputy mandate and go to work in the State Duma.

“It is planned that he will announce his decision before the end of next week, after the CEC (the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation) sums up the results of the Duma elections”, - the newspaper notes.

The region expects that after Sipyagin's departure, United Russia will be appointed from outside. Among the possible contenders are named State Duma deputy from the Kaluga region Alexander Avdeev, the head of the Murom district of the Vladimir region Yevgeny Rychkov and the general director of Gazprom Gazoraspredeleniye Vladimir Alexey Konyshev.

The Sipyagin administration has not yet officially confirmed the information about his resignation, calling it a "fake".

In 2018, the deputy of the Vladimir Legislative Assembly, the leader of the Agrarian Committee Sipyagin, who came from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, won the gubernatorial elections by a large margin in the second round against the long-term head of the region, United Russia Svetlana Orlova.

An important indicator of the Kremlin's attitude to Sipyagin, who triumphantly entered power, was the fact that the head of state Vladimir Putin did not congratulate either him or two of Sipyagin's colleagues from Khakassia and Primorye, who won the elections against the plans of the presidential administration, on the victory.

Further, the Kremlin's attitude towards Sipyagin as an "unloved child" only worsened. After the appointment, Sipyagin faced serious opposition from the federal and regional elites, and a number of media outlets that remained loyal to Orlova and United Russia.

Under the conditions of strong obstruction of officials and businessmen supported by the authorities during the two years of work of Sipyagin, who was elected from the “wrong” party and virtually deprived of the help of the federal center, the trust rating of the “people's” governor fell sharply.

And after the arrest of his colleague in the Liberal Democratic Party, who similarly won the elections of the Primorsky governor Sergei Furgal, analysts predicted an "apocalypse" for Sipyagin.

Investment in the region has almost stopped. Criticism began to mount on all fronts. Open protests began. According to the results of opinion polls, more than two-thirds of the population of the subject began to speak in favor of changing the head of the region.

Analysts say that Sipyagin's decision to go to the State Duma is a "golden option". A number of experts believe that the deputy who was elected on the wave of protest not from United Russia would still be removed. Therefore, it will be much more profitable for Sipyagin to go to work in the lower house of parliament than to go nowhere.
