Almost 7.2 million debtors are not allowed to travel abroad

- Potentially restricted to travel abroad, that is, those who have overdue debts for more than 90 days in the amount of more than 30 thousand rubles, currently recorded about 7.2 million people, - said the expert in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He advised those borrowers who have such an opportunity or had in the past, two weeks before leaving Russia, to check whether their name was entered in the database of enforcement proceedings. This can be done on the official website of the Federal Bailiff Service. If the answer turns out to be positive, it will be necessary to pay off the debt in full, inform the body that imposed the ban, and wait about ten working days for the database to be updated.

Elman Mehdiyev added that in some cases the waiting time is reduced, but he warned against postponing the case "until the last." To go abroad for treatment, you can ask for a deferral of debt repayment or an installment plan. To do this, you need to write to the FSSP or go to court. However, it will be necessary to prove that the trip cannot be postponed. The expert decree that nowadays creditors have begun to turn to a judicial instrument of collection more often, but pre-trial settlement still remains a priority.

At the same time, the ban on traveling abroad as a measure of influence on debtors turned out to be less effective during a pandemic. During the first half of 2021, the number of cases that ended in actual execution amounted to only 300 thousand against 5.9 million decisions issued by the court.

Recall that as of June 1, 2021, the largest number of non-travel defaulters, including alimony payments, turned out to be in the Krasnodar Territory - 381.4 thousand. According to this indicator, the region is ahead of Moscow and Bashkiria.
