The Ministry of Transport has adjusted the position of the need to check QR codes indicating vaccination or coronavirus infection by air passengers.

According to Vedomosti, referring to its sources, when the check is mandatory, it will be enough to present the certificate only before check-in for the flight, and at the stage of ticket sales, QR codes will not be required.

After the ticket is purchased, the airline will send the passenger who does not have a vaccination certificate, registered on the Gosulug portal, a notification of the need to receive one.

- If the certificate by this time (by the beginning of check-in for the flight - ed.) Does not appear on the State Services, the airline will terminate the contract of carriage and within 30 days will have to return the full cost of the ticket, - the publication quotes the words of the interlocutor.

According to the source, the department will present the adjusted position on December 7 at a meeting with deputies in the State Duma's transport committee.

The Ministry of Transport has made a proposal to the government to compensate the aviation industry in December 2021 for 8.09 billion rubles in lost income due to the introduction of mandatory QR codes. The department indicated that the system will reduce air traffic by 50%, and the drop-out revenues of carriers will amount to 7.03 billion rubles a month.
