Lockdown did not help: Golikova acknowledged the deterioration of the situation with COVID-19 in 10 regions

According to TASS, citing Golikova's statement, over the past seven days, the sanitary situation has worsened in the Belgorod, Saratov, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Yaroslavl and Magadan regions, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, in Tatarstan, Tuva and Chuvashia.

“Golikova noted that almost all regions of Russia have already launched QR-codes for visiting government agencies, catering and cultural facilities. In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, it is important to increase vaccination and prevent attempts to falsify documents on vaccinations”, - the statement says.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister urged to check the authenticity of QR-codes everywhere, as well as the truthfulness of certificates of past illness and PCR-test codes.

She pointed out that the end of the pandemic in the country depends on how carefully the authorities will suppress attempts to falsify documents and increase the rate of vaccination.

The total number of people infected with covid in the world has already reached 248.7 million people, over 5 million patients have died. In Russia, the number of infected exceeded 8.7 million, while, according to the headquarters, more than 244 thousand citizens died. Meanwhile, researchers consider the data on morbidity and mortality in the country to be grossly underestimated. Experts believe that the official numbers of the headquarters should be multiplied by at least 3.

On the eve, more than 40 thousand people per day were infected with covid in the country, a new absolute record was set for the number of deaths.

In Moscow, where the largest number of people fall ill, the rate of infection spread has slightly decreased during the lockdown. According to the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin, the number of seriously ill patients requiring hospitalization has begun to decline in recent days, and there are no plans to introduce an additional lockdown in the capital.
