Increasingly, Russians need to resort to borrowed money to make a major purchase: for example, household appliances or an expensive smartphone. At the same time, citizens take loans for repairs less and less.

According to RIA Novosti, citing a study by the online financial platform Webbakir, last year the share of loans for large purchases was 16.8%, while in 2020 it was 12.3%.

Experts attribute this indicator to the fact that, first of all, no global lockdowns were introduced last year, and the economy began to gradually recover, which gave citizens confidence in the financial future. The second thing that influenced the growth of loans for large purchases was the growth of inflation - buyers did not wait until the goods become more expensive, and preferred to buy it right away, taking a loan.

The share of loans for travel has doubled - from 2.2% to 4.5% - and has reached pre-pandemic levels.

At the same time, Russians began to borrow less frequently for housing repairs. The share decreased from 15.3% in 2020 to 12.1% in 2021. The frequency of taking loans for treatment decreased from 10% to 7.1%.

Mostly citizens borrowed for personal consumer needs - 35.6%.

At the end of the last ode, it became known that every second Russian is going to take out a mortgage. Moreover, those who do not plan to apply for a loan in the near future, as the main obstacle to this, are called low incomes. Every fourth says that he already has several loans.
