If in a conversation with an alleged bank representative a subscriber hears the phrases "personal account" and "financial cell", he should be wary: as a rule, they are used by cybercriminals, according to a study by the manufacturer of systems for combating data leakage DeviceLock.

The research results are cited by RIA Novosti.

The experts analyzed over fifty calls and studied the manuals found by law enforcement officers during a search in the "criminal call center" in Kiev. Analysts have found that fraudsters are increasingly less likely to resort to banking databases, which have now become more expensive due to anti-leakage measures. Basically, information about bank accounts is now lured out during a conversation.

According to Yuri Timashko, General Director of DeviceLock, criminals are now using the legend that a third party has taken out a loan in the name of the victim using a "personal account" linked to passport data. Now it is necessary to “prevent” theft, and for this it is necessary to announce the bank account numbers and transfer the money to a “safe account”. The victim is asked not to tell anyone about the call, because it allegedly "violates the Criminal Code."

It is the phrases "financial cell" and "personal account" that should become a signal for a potential victim that the conversation is being conducted by a fraudster. Since there are no personal accounts tied to passport data, nor the ability to steal funds with their help.
