The governor of the Chelyabinsk region Alexei Teksler (pictured) announced his self-isolation after the Vector laboratory confirmed that his spokesman Sergei Zyus is infected.

“I just received information that Vector confirmed the illness of my spokesman Sergei Zyus. You see, I participated in a briefing from my office, because I have to observe self-isolation in this regard. I’ll observe the regime from my working area in my office", - Texler explained the situation, underlining that self-isolation would not affect his working mode and "the situation is under control".

Earlier it turned out that Zusia has a suspicion of a coronavirus. He himself informed the agency that he was feeling well and had no symptoms of the disease. A spokesman for the Chelyabinsk governor was hospitalized, and all employees who contacted him, including media representatives, were checked for coronavirus infection. There were more than 20 such people, but all test results did not confirm their infection.

The governor said that the decision to isolate the entire regional government would be inappropriate.

According to the latest data, 32 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the region. It is noted that in all the disease proceeds in a mild form or without symptoms at all. Six patients were discharged.

Until April 19 in the Chelyabinsk region a mandatory self-isolation regime is in effect.

At the moment, according to the Stopkoronavirus.rf resource in Russia, there are 8 672 cases of COVID-19 infection, 63 patients have died.
