Crumpled and baggy: why today's youth dress so badly

Crumpled and baggy: why today's youth dress so badly

Social networks are trying to find an explanation for the weirdness of modern youth fashion

The popular blogger Morena was outraged by the manner of dressing of modern girls, writing that she was literally "horrified" by their appearance, walking around the center of Moscow: creepy "elephantine" sneakers, stretched T-shirts, baggy pants, no cosmetics and hairstyles... And as a result - complete gender indistinguishability: where is the man, where is the woman? "This is the end of civilization!" - the author states, recalling that Russian girls have always been considered the most beautiful in the world.

At the same time, the blogger understands perfectly well that today's young people get to know each other on the Internet, and, therefore, does not need at all waiting for the prince to constantly look sexy, putting on catchy clothes, mini-skirts, and applying "war paint" on the face.

In addition, the very lifestyle of young people has changed, and now, unlike in the past, everything is available to them: any books, and any films, and swimming pools, and fitness clubs, and computer toys, and free lectures. They dream not of external attractiveness, but of travel, their housing, career, success. As in the rest of the world.

In addition, they spend time not at all with aunts and uncles, but with the same liberated young men, with whom you can wear whatever you want, since all these clothes “will be on the floor very soon”...

It should be noted that not all of Morena's readers agreed with her arguments. Some believe that girls deliberately dress like this in order to avoid harassment on the street:

“I, of course, are not young people. But yesterday we were walking with my mother along the alley, and a group of drunken men began to pester us. In order to avoid such situations, I want to dress so that they do not notice. And to young girls, I can only imagine how often unwanted gentlemen climb. To avoid such situations, people in the East came up with the burqa. I will not be surprised that in a year or so this piece of clothing can also be in a frenzied trend..."

Others rightly believe that convenience is more important than "beauty":

“Hairpins are evil! They kill in a woman her natural softness and feline grace when walking. On high heels, the girl walks like a soldier on a parade ground, only unlike a soldier slowly and awkwardly. Strives to fall. It is, of course, sometimes nice to catch a girl who has stumbled while passing by and to embrace her for a short time. It can even sometimes be a start to an acquaintance. But apart from that, I don't see anything good in stilettos. One harm. They also disfigure the feet when the girl takes them off - there are creepy calluses and on the face of a girl on high heels there is often a mixture of suffering from pain and fear of waking up. No really! Better elephant sneakers. In the end, the beauty of women's legs is not judged by the feet..."

And still others did not agree at all with the author in the assessment of modern youth:

“A very big fantasy. Children are modern cowards like gazelles. This is not a generation of hippies with their freedom and their nomadic way of life. These are domestic nerds - that's why they look so embarrassing, they don't flutter like butterflies. They walk ponderously in their elephant boots through life. In words, on the Internet, they are Leo Tolstoy, winners of the world, but you just pick your finger and these are ordinary (even a hundredfold amplified) neurotics with an absolutely torn psyche (inherited from the hard life of parents on the brink of divorce, nailed down by the prey in Russia of a piece of stale, rancid of bread).

They come off the Internet and turn into freaks - morally violating themselves by belittling others, they only speak obscenely and look a little like those chimpanzees in the zoo who do something together only by compulsion, the "mind of the masses", the collective unconscious - which means a separate individuality they either did not create or hide from their so-called friends (in fact, random friends - who dragged them to the street "for a walk", in reality - take a sip of cheap beer and play, or even worse - smoke).

I really love and respect every young generation who bravely and does not live in the past and easily forgets it - but they are not, they are crushed by this past, at 20 and even 30 - they behave like at 14, wear pissed T-shirts with dirty hair and shameful clothes..."
