Among the Russians who decided to start saving money this year (such 76%), most of all are young people aged 18-24 (81%).

Citizens of 55-64 years old (68%) want to make savings least of all ( 68% ), follows from the survey of Avito Rabota and the fintech company Dengi Vperyod, the results of which are cited by the Prime agency.

From the data of the Central Bank it follows that the share of foreign currency deposits currently accounts for one fifth of the funds of citizens in banks. Over the past year, the volume of bank customers' funds increased from 4.2% to 5.7%.

In total, the Russians kept 34.7 trillion rubles in this way. Last month, when the ruble showed a significant fall, banks recorded that foreign currency depositors were transferring their savings into the national currency.

Moreover, the number of bank clients with ruble savings rose to a two-year high. The number of those who save in domestic currency increased by 87% to 92%. At the same time, the highest share of ruble savings was in 2019 - 94%.
