Veterans of Magnitogorsk were presented with the expired canned goods and tea
The 99-year-old home front worker from Magnitogorsk received a gift from the local authorities in connection with the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.
However, this dry ration turned out to be expired - packaging of tea as much as six years ago and canned food made from two to four years ago - a can of seaweed and a can of beans.
“I would really like to look into the eyes of those people who are responsible for the quality of this gift. She lives separately from us. We came to her on Wednesday and saw it all,” - the Rise telegram channel quotes the veteran’s grandson. The jubilee medal and canned goods were also accompanied by a congratulatory paper signed by a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk Region.
It is not the first time that grocery packages for veterans, schoolchildren and for other citizens who receive social support are often delivered either second-rate and purchased at an exorbitant price or even expired.
Seven years ago, for example, veterans of the Sverdlovsk Region were presented with expired stewed meat. And already this spring, in the Omsk region, students were presented with expired lemonade on behalf of the head of the region .
