Experts: coronavirus can live on the surface of a smartphone for up to 28 days

COVID-19 can survive on smooth surfaces for 28 days at room temperature, according to a study by the Australian Center for Disease Preparedness.

The greatest danger is presented by non-porous surfaces, in particular, glass, paper and polymer banknotes, stainless steel items. At + 20C, the coronavirus lasts up to a month on such surfaces, at + 30C it can live for up to three weeks, and only at + 40C it survives only a few days.

Moreover, scientists are sure that the displays of smartphones are the most dangerous because people do not subject them to regular disinfection.

Let us recall that the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation predicted the timing of the end of the pandemic. According to the chief pulmonologist of the department, it will last at least another year.

Recall that the country has again set a record for the number of cases of coronavirus during the day. On October 11, it was reported that 13,634 new infections were detected the day before, which is the highest figure since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
