In 2021, Russia is 25% more likely to be interested in prom dresses compared to 2019. The average cost of an outfit is 2,500 rubles.

Experts from Avito told about this. According to their research, the brightest bursts of interest in prom dresses were in Kirov - twice as much as in 2019, in Togliatti and Irkutsk - by 80%, Naberezhnye Chelny - by 69%, in Izhevsk - by 68%. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, the demand for outfits for graduates increased by 9% and 40%.

In the past, pandemic year, experts say, market trends turned out to be atypical, since graduation was canceled.

In May of this year, Moscow and St. Petersburg are in the lead in terms of the number of requests for dresses on the Avito website - they account for 11% and 7% of the total request. Voronezh is in third place - 3%. Then Krasnodar and Nizhny Novgorod - 2% each.

According to the head of the Lifestyle macro category at Avito, Alexei Kozlovsky, supply is growing along with the growing demand. Announcements for the sale of prom dresses increased by 20%.

“The choice in favor of new dresses is influenced by trends in conscious consumption and reasonable economy, because in most cases such outfits are worn only once, they remain in excellent condition, and are much cheaper”, - said Kozlovsky.

As for prices, the most expensive graduation dresses are sold in Voronezh. The average price there was about 4,000 rubles. Ryazan is in second place - there the average cost of a prom dress was 3200 rubles. In Moscow, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Stavropol - 3000 rubles each. The most budgetary dresses are in Izhevsk, Kirov and Chelyabinsk - the average cost was 1000 rubles, 1100 rubles and 1300 rubles, respectively.

Recall that in 2019, the parents of graduates noted that graduation balls are becoming more expensive and more fun. Most of the respondents said that it is the graduation that is the borderline for adolescents to enter adulthood.

"
